Tre' Henry

Designer

Born a true Michigander, Tre' became a "jack-of-all-trades" at Grand Valley State University majoring in English Education, Theater, Sign Language Interpreting and Psychology (We need a nap just typing all that).

After four years at Grand Valley State University, Tre' decided to pursue her true passion: art. She applied to Harrington College of Design, moved to Chicago, and received her BFA in Communication Design with specialties in illustration, layout and typography.

Prior to finding her way to NDI, Tre' interned at Mr. Design Studio, SolomonCordwellBuenz Architecture and became the Assistant Director at Creative Go-Round, a non-profit design studio in Chicago.

When she actually has free time, Tre' is also curator and printmaker/artist at several community art galleries and has had her work featured in i4design Magazine. She is also an active member of Chicago Printer's Guild.

Inspiration

I find it in everything in life from song lyrics to advertisements on the train to the shape my coffee spill made on the counter. Everything is fuel if you look at it the right way.

Philosophy

Treat others as you would like to be treated, even if that means treating them better than they treat you. Give respect to get it.

Fun

Cooking, art gallery openings, live music, biking/running, drinking a good beer on a sunny patio, and, of course, super geeky board game nights with friends.

Creative Expression

I am a sucker for the traditional print process. I love getting my hands dirty with a good letterpress or screen-print. I also really value the creative writing process and rather enjoy writing short stories and prose.
