Last year, I had the opportunity to have my work featured in "artnog," a holiday gallery exhibition. This year, I am part of the team curating and organizing the second annual artnog event and I highly recommend submitting or, if nothing else, attending the opening! How can you say no to live carols, eggnog, delicious treats and fresh art?!

Every industry has its own jargon, trends and tricks. Working at a graphic design firm, one of my least favorites is Lorem Ipsum text. It’s not (just) the fact that it’s clunky and overused that bothers me. It’s the fact that it’s all-too-common to find Lorem Ipsum text in the final version of a newly-launched website, sticking out like a pirate at a ninja convention.

We’re pleased to announce that the poster design we entered into the Chicago Public Library’s Design Contest was awarded the Grand Prize last night!

We’ll admit it. We like competitions. We like entering them, because we make things we’re proud of. Part of that mentality of showing off our art to our moms stuck with us, but instead of getting our work on the fridge, now we put our work up on the web, in flyers, brochures, at galleries, and anywhere else we think people might appreciate our work.
