At our annual NDI Summer Fun Day we always start the day with a team strategy meeting and then spend the rest of the day experiencing something new in our fantastic city. This year we began the day with our planning meeting at the very pink Breakfast Club in Chicago's west loop. Carol kicked off the meeting presenting ways NDI uses "design thinking" to drive organizational success for our clients and then discussed ways we achieve this by balancing strategy, processes, metrics, people and culture. Other presentations included: The NDI Office Cleanse (complete with stinging bee cleaning mascot pins), NDI Best Practices, The NDI "Finer Things Club" (marketing, design and culture book club), and ideas for creating an online store for NDI-designed products (coasters, t-shirts, clocks, bookplates, wrapping paper, etc.).

Next we headed to the south side for the Croatian Festival and then a visit to the Zhou B Art Center to see the internationally acclaimed work of the Zhou brothers.

The highlight of the day was the Chicago Air and Water Show at North Avenue Beach capped off with a refreshing beverage at Café Brauer in Lincoln Park.
